In this day and age in the UK are we abandoning religion and replacing it with our own worship of sex, drugs and rock n roll? It seems every corner turned you can be sure to see either the stray fifty year old alcoholic chuckling to himself at 10am, or a bunch of students finding a trolley and throwing it into bushes or the most common thing is the adverts, all assosciated with looks - sex sells apparently. When in the past hundred years did people give up on hope and faith and trade it all for the complete opposite. Every girl knows that young twenty something men are simply after bedroom naughtiness, and yet they fall in love, have sex, and end up heartbroken. Are we our own destruction? And if so, how do we correct this mess? I remember one person telling me that on an important document concerning households JEDI is considered a religion. Enough people wrote JedI on enough forms to actually make it a religion, even though it is obviously not real. So the majority of under 40 year olds seem to live their lives, when something goes wrong they go out get drunk and find someone new to sleep with. It seems to me that religion acts as the good conscience of us all, if you don’t believe in it at all then surely you go down a very slippery slope, and it seems that everyone no longer respects each other, unless you are a male player. It seems that wars are caused and about religion, e.g terrorist attacks and then making out we’re in a holy war but the truth is we’ve all lost our faith in the west, so that declaration simply doesn’t work. Is religion a fad that is simply passing us by, and the new religon, sex drugs and rock n roll, is it really the path humans should take, eleven year olds having babies, free abortions without the guy ever knowing, and the majority of the UK being on anti depressants because they have lost their hope? I think I might go to a Church Sunday, I still have hope that there’s more to life than this, and if not I’m going to live it right with the least amount of heart ache as possible, I still have some sort of faith, in something spiritual, and in mankind one day getting things right and peaceful in the future.

I don't think we need religion to lead a peaceful and moral existence. I think people know when they are doing things right or wrong, the problem is the extent to which they care about it that's the problem.
On a brighter note I have noticed as a whole, people of my age calming down quite a lot recently. Even the most outrageous womanisers seem to be settling down (maybe they have stopped treating freedom as a license and look at it as more of a responsibilty).
